Surprise!! Third Destination for 767

In addition to New York and Boston on a 2x weekly rotation, we were able to add WASHINGTON-DULLES to our growing list of destinations. A second 767 is undergoing interior fittings and systems testing in Ontario and will be used to increase frequencies to the existing destinations as well as the addition of one or two additional destinations.

Pilot Downloads Section Completed

The new incarnation of the former Pilot Resource Center is now online. Aircraft related files have been removed to the fleet download area to reduce clutter. You will now find required and incredibly important files listed on the page. Scenery and misc. files will be maintained in a section on the forum. This way, pilots may add their own suggested scenery and files. The best of the best pilot suggested files wil be added to the main download page.

Tuesday’s Final Update

I got on a roll and kept working. We now have a fully operational PILOT DATA DISPLAY department in place. Click on the link that is now called “Roster/Pilot Data” to see all of the various displays VAFS makes possible.

A registry of all of our aircraft has also been uploaded.

Since When Did We Get a 727 and a Hub in California??

Don’t be alarmed…it’s not a mistake. Celtic is, however, NOT moving in to the California market. There are some references to the “Celtic World Airways Group” around the site…it is our parent company, after all. However, we are currently the Group’s only airline. Well, NOT FOR LONG!!!

That’s right…a SISTER AIRLINE is on the way! Aside from that, expect the parent company to get a web page of its own, linking to and displaying data about all of the CWA Group airlines.

While we aren’t having twins, there is yet ANOTHER sister airline waiting in the wings. Stay tuned for details!

Front Page Enhancements

Well, I did not realize just how rusty my website coding skills have become! After a struggle, I have added some new features, compliments of VAFS, to the front page. These include a “newest pilots” display, a stats display and a link to the ACARS map.

Next is integrating the searchable flight timetable, which should be MUCH easier.

Website Updates as of Tuesday Afternoon

After a lot of input indicating that pilots would like to have the panel and sound set downloads on the same page as the aircraft downloads themselves, I have reorganized the fleet page to include those links. A few aesthetic changes were also made, as you will be able to see. Hopefully, this will make things easier…it is certainly making it easier to streamline the Pilot Resource section, which, incidentally, is the section I am currently working on.

The Blog is Here!

Welcome to our blog. I have never actually had a blog of my own before, so this is a completely new experience. So, we have forums, we have news releases…why a blog? Well, we are constantly working on the airline, planning for the future, adding new features, searching out the newest and best of flight simulator freeware. On the blog, you will be able to see things before they show up in a website update. Sneak peak at what we are looking at, what we are planning, and maybe read about some new things in the hobby that you may find interesting.

We are currently in the middle of a major set of updates, including changes to the website, the addition of some great new features and, of course, our great new livery. As things are completed, read about it here! Expect posts from myself, your humble CEO, as well as the other executives and management types as time goes on. If we decide that everyone is going to play nice, we will also enable the commenting feature. We do not want the blog to step on the Forum’s toes, so, for the time being, the reader response feature of the blog is disabled.

Well, back to work! Keep watching the site for updates and, again, read about them here first!

Bill
