Update on Website/Airline Improvements

6 Aug – Many website improvements and added features are planned and in the works. Some of these have been discussed with some of you privately, and some not. New ideas come up all the time, and since we will continually add to and make changes to improve, I can’t say that we will ever be finished. However, as of right now, a lot of the new features introduction has been put on hold…TEMPORARILY!

The main reason for this is, our automated system, VAFS, is due to release a BRAND NEW VERSION very soon. Many of the features we were going to add are going to be integrated into the system. Plus, many things we would like to do are dependent upon the new capabilites of the new system. So, nothing is being cancelled, nothing is being taken off the board…we are in a holding pattern right now.

Below, I will list SOME of the new features we will be bringing online. There are more, and these are IN ADDITION TO the enhancements and growth of our fleet and route network!

  • Pilot Recognition and Awards
  • Training, Procedural and Navigation Documents & Manual
  • Pilot Lounge Entertainment Features
  • FS Add-ons Suggested Files Improvement
  • TeamSpeak/VAFSMP (Multiplayer) Integration
  • Online Event Hosting
  • New Sister Airlines Added to the Group
  • Improved Pilot Communications/Community Features
  • Special Flights/Missions/Charter Assignments
  • Visual Enhancements of the Website

These are just some of the things we have in the works. And, when all of these things are completed, we will just continue to add and refine. In the mean time, I will continue the addition of regional jet routes and aircraft to get that up to speed, and some very big announcements regarding routes, hubs, fleet, etc., are on the horizon.

Regional Jet Focus Cities Announced

5 August 2008 – We are ready to announce our first batch of focus cities for our new point to point regional jet network! Glasgow, Cork, Cardiff and Frankfurt are the winners. Frankfurt will be our anchor in the heart of the European continent and will see the largest amount of activity.

These new focus cities will be equipped by aircraft expected to be delivered from the current 40 orders and purchase options we hold on ERJ135/145 and E170/190 aircraft. They will be classified as Focus Cities, rather than full Hubs, due to the fact that our full range of operations, with a focus on connections, will not be present there. The possibility remains for at least two of those cities to eventually grow into a full hub.

Full details and a full press release are forthcoming.
