8 New Fleet Additions / 77 New RJ Flights

We have just completed the addition of 8 new Embraer aircraft to the fleet, including 4 additional EMB170′s and a new addition to our fleet, 4 new ERJ145XR’s. This represents delivery of 8 of our current 20 firm orders for Embraer aircraft. We have purchase options on a further 20, so we are just going to continue to grow.

THE ERJ145XR IS AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD FROM THE UPDATED FLEET PAGE! What you will also notice about the fleet page is that there are now separate downloads for FS2004 and FSX versions of our aircraft. All of the ZIP files have been rebuilt and optimized for faster download and easier “out of the box” operation. We hope people decide to also take the time to install the realistic sound sets and panels we have suggested or find some of their own. It only enhances the experience!

Finally, these new planes and routes, based at our new Cork hub, represent the start of our planned expansion into point to point regional service throughout Europe. This should add to new pilots’ enjoyment, as it adds another aircraft type along with dozens of new destinations for those working to build up hours to step into the bigger birds.

Cork (EICK) Elevated to Hub Status, Glasgow to Focus City

Cork has been given “hub” status in the system, and has been assigned one of our two Embraer E170 aircraft. Cork will be the anchor of several regional network focus cities as we build our point-to-point network within Europe. The schedule for that aircraft will change to accommodate new rotues and will soon be joined by a few more Embraer aircraft. Initially, Cork based aircraft will operate on a schedule along with routes  based from the Glasgow focus city.

Watch here for further details and to see when the hub becomes fully active. This is expected before week’s end!

New Routes Added

Celtic Airways has announced the addition of new daily service to two new UK destinations from its Dublin hub. Manchester and Leeds-Bradford will now be served using Embraer E170 equipment. As a result, scheduled flights to Shannon and Cardiff have been modified, but service has not been reduced from the current twice daily service.

Expect more route addition news, as this is the first and smallest of a series of route additions.
