CWA 2K10 Coming Soon

May 22 2010

The summer is approaching, and with it comes a nice chunk of time to dedicate to VA development. Celtic is long overdue for some upgrades, updates and enhancements, and that’s exactly what will be done. The culmination of the project, which is projected to be completed in its various components before the end of 2010, will be a concerted recruitment drive and the activation of members into more active management roles.

Details of the CWA 2K10 Project will be released in the next 2 weeks, including a section detailing each element of the project and progress updates on each. Stay tuned…

It’s Been a While…

March 20 2010

…but we are still here. I apologize to one and all for the lack of updates. I have been dealing with a lot of non-VA items, and the light at the end of the tunnel seems to be rapidly approaching. That could be good or bad, but that’s a different story!

Our upgrade and enhancement plans are still in place and, if anything, have been improved or added to. The cargo division along with several new aircraft types will be the first to go live. All of the empty links on the revamped menu bar on the site will be gradually filled in as the new pages come out of production.

Keep hanging on…some cool things are still in the pipeline. I thank all of you who have stuck with us.

Pacific Sun Update

October 31 2009

Due to real-life work obligations eating in to my time available for VA development, I have had to delay the launch of PSA Cargo. It has not been cancelled, and will be launched before the end of the year. As a bonus for your wait, in addition to the planned 744F and A300F, we will be adding the 777F.

ANYONE INTERESTED IN FLYING CARGO FLIGHTS in the mean time, PLEASE CONTACT ME and I will gladly get you the aircraft files and assign you some special routes. Cargo flights will be on widebody aircraft, but will be available to ALL pilots with at least 10 hours and a pilot rating of 95 or higher.

Website Construction Season

July 29 2009

The website is currently undergoing some remodeling. You may, at times, see various things out of place or missing, only to return and then disappear again. We are working within our current site template to add and enhance features, so we will be uploading and testing various formats. The left navigation bar should give everyone a clue as to what things will look like and what is being added/moved around. A formal announcement will be made when all elements of the current rebuilding phase are complete and operational!

8 New Fleet Additions / 77 New RJ Flights

June 12 2009

We have just completed the addition of 8 new Embraer aircraft to the fleet, including 4 additional EMB170′s and a new addition to our fleet, 4 new ERJ145XR’s. This represents delivery of 8 of our current 20 firm orders for Embraer aircraft. We have purchase options on a further 20, so we are just going to continue to grow.

THE ERJ145XR IS AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD FROM THE UPDATED FLEET PAGE! What you will also notice about the fleet page is that there are now separate downloads for FS2004 and FSX versions of our aircraft. All of the ZIP files have been rebuilt and optimized for faster download and easier “out of the box” operation. We hope people decide to also take the time to install the realistic sound sets and panels we have suggested or find some of their own. It only enhances the experience!

Finally, these new planes and routes, based at our new Cork hub, represent the start of our planned expansion into point to point regional service throughout Europe. This should add to new pilots’ enjoyment, as it adds another aircraft type along with dozens of new destinations for those working to build up hours to step into the bigger birds.

Cork (EICK) Elevated to Hub Status, Glasgow to Focus City

June 10 2009

Cork has been given “hub” status in the system, and has been assigned one of our two Embraer E170 aircraft. Cork will be the anchor of several regional network focus cities as we build our point-to-point network within Europe. The schedule for that aircraft will change to accommodate new rotues and will soon be joined by a few more Embraer aircraft. Initially, Cork based aircraft will operate on a schedule along with routes  based from the Glasgow focus city.

Watch here for further details and to see when the hub becomes fully active. This is expected before week’s end!

New Routes Added

June 10 2009

Celtic Airways has announced the addition of new daily service to two new UK destinations from its Dublin hub. Manchester and Leeds-Bradford will now be served using Embraer E170 equipment. As a result, scheduled flights to Shannon and Cardiff have been modified, but service has not been reduced from the current twice daily service.

Expect more route addition news, as this is the first and smallest of a series of route additions.

PILOTS MUST DOWNLOAD NEW CLIENT!!!

April 23 2009

Here is the link for the new VAFS client: http://www.vafinancials.com/downloads/VAFS4_SETUP.zip

FLIGHTS MADE WITH THE OLD CLIENT WILL NOT REGISTER AND WILL NOT BE TRANSFERED!

VAFS4 Integration = New Routes on Hold

March 18 2009

The planned addition of a significant number of new Embraer aircraft and routes, as well as a couple new 767s to Canada, will be put on hold pending the completion of VAFS4 integration.

Further details will be released as the new aircraft are deployed and the route database is updated.

TeamSpeak & FSHost Multiplayer Servers Now Open

February 08 2009

Our brand new dedicated multiplayer server is now fully operational and open to pilots! We have installed an FSHost multiplayer server, which will allow our pilots and guests to fly together and across Flight Sim versions. We have also installed TeamSpeak for voice communications in flight, as well as for voice chat.

At a later time, we will be hosting some small events, as well as opening up our TeamSpeak channels so that prospective pilots can speak with us directly before joining. Further information on these functions will be released at a later time. There are also other plans for these features that are under development…stay tuned!

IN ORDER TO USE THE SERVER….please use the PRIVATE MESSAGE feature in the FORUM to contact CWA_CEO. You will then receive the FSHost password as well as an individual sign on for the TeamSpeak server.
